Transgender & Non-binary Care
We work to create trans affirming space and care to support people who are questioning, curious, transitioning, or identifying as transgender/non-binary.

Play Therapy
We have had extensive hands-on training in Experiential Play Therapy. We are one of the very few clinicians who provide this service to children in the twin cities metro area. We also offer Filial Therapy.
Trauma
We provide trauma-informed services with specific training in TF-CBT, Somatic Psychology, ITFC, IFS and Mindfulness Techniques.
Expressive Therapies
We are trained in several modalities of Expressive Therapies to be used with children, adolescents and adults including art, sand tray and movement, play, as well as an evidence-based model called Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems with Children.
Adoption/Foster Care
We are aware of the specialized concerns with children who have been adopted and who reside in foster placements. Neko has extensive experience working with foster care and was one of the first 10 clinicians in the state of Minnesota to be certified in practicing Intensive Treatment to Foster Care.
Couples and Families
We have had intensive training in numerous models of Marriage and Family Therapy including Family Systems and Structural/Strategic Family Therapy Models.
LGBTQIA+
We have a special interest in working with and supporting individuals and couples in the LGBTQIA+ community. Including staff of this community.
Dissociative Disorders
Dissociation is a result of trauma. Our extensive trauma training addresses how to support the nervous system and regulation of a dissociative client. This includes mindfulness, somatic psychology, and the importance of working with parts in a collaborative manner in a therapeutic setting.
Spiritual Integration Counseling
With multiple therapists having received their masters degree from a local seminary we can offer services for clients seeking a therapist who will support their spiritual perspective and the intersection of their faith experience with their emotional difficulties. We strive to offer a supportive environment for these clients regarding an area that can be deeply personal in their therapy process.
Child and Family Assessment
We are trained in a wide range of diagnostic and play based assessments
Mothers in Postpartum
Amanda is specially trained in working with mothers through their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Difficulties affecting Men
Highly sensitive men, anger management, sexual difficulty, other difficulties relating to men.

At Authentic Roots Therapy we offer Individual, Couples and Family Mental Health Services.
All sessions are offered via telehealth or in-person.

If we are not accepting your insurance carrier it may be possible for you to receive out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance carrier, if this is something you would like to pursue, we are more than willing to provide you with invoices/superbills for your submission.
Flexible Savings Accounts/Health Savings Accounts are also great ways to pay for therapeutic services.
